Samsung Galaxy Ring Launch Confirmed for Second Half of 2024

During the January 17 Galaxy Unpacked event, which showcased the Galaxy S24 series of smartphones, there was a hint of the Samsung Galaxy Ring. It was reported that the Samsung Health suite would work with the Galaxy Ring when it launched as a fitness and health tracker. Although the company withheld additional information about the smart wearable, a number of leaks and reports in the interim have suggested some of its main characteristics and layout. An official from the company has now verified when the Galaxy Ring will launch.

In a LinkedIn post, senior Samsung executive Daniel Seung Lee officially announced that the much awaited Galaxy Ring will launch in the second half of 2024. He refrained from providing any additional information or hinting at a specific date. It was previously anticipated that the smart ring would be unveiled later this year alongside the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. That's consistent with the confirmed launch timeline.

The Samsung Galaxy Ring was spotted last week in the battery widgets section of the Good Lock app, indicating that it was about to launch. The ring is expected to debut in three colorways as a "lightweight" wearable that comes in sizes up to 13 (22.2mm). Pogo pin charging is anticipated to be supported by the smart ring as well.

The Galaxy Ring was once described by the manufacturer as a "powerful and accessible health and wellness device." In the previously mentioned official teaser, the smooth, round ring with multiple sensors placed on the underside was seen to aid in health and fitness tracking.

According to prior leaks, the Samsung Galaxy Ring is most likely going to have sensors for atrial fibrillation (AFib), photoplethysmography (PPG), or electrocardiogram (ECG). Additionally, 24x7 heart rate, SpO2, and sleep trackers are anticipated to be carried. The Samsung Health suite is probably going to receive all of the health, fitness, and sleep data from the smart ring for tracking purposes.
