Weighing 745g (26.3oz), it is touted by Sigma as the lightest lens of its kind.
With a length of 109mm (4.3"), it is slightly longer than the smallest 50mm F1.2 lens offered by another major manufacturer, by less than 1mm.
The lens is set to retail for $1,399 and will be available starting April 18, according to Sigma.
