Sigma to Unveil First-Ever Autofocus Cine Lens at IBC 2024

Sigma, a renowned manufacturer of high-quality photography and cine lenses, is set to make waves at IBC 2024 with the unveiling of its first-ever autofocus cine lens. This groundbreaking announcement comes as the company continues to push the boundaries of lens design and innovation.

The new prototype lens, which is currently under development, will be based on Sigma's successful 28-45mm f/1.8 DG DN Art lens. It will feature a similar zoom range, constant wide aperture, and the addition of autofocus capabilities. This is a significant departure from traditional cine lenses, which typically rely on manual focus only.

Sigma's booth at IBC 2024 will have the theme of 'Rediscovery', encouraging visitors to explore the creative potential of the acclaimed Sigma Cine Lens series. The booth will be divided into four departments, each designed to provide attendees with a deeper understanding and appreciation of Sigma's cine lenses[.

The 'testing space' will allow visitors to get up close and personal with the full range of Sigma Cine lenses, including the FF High Speed Prime Line, High Speed Zoom Line, FF Zoom Line, and FF Classic Prime Line. The 'Communication Lounge' will serve as both a café and a testing area, where professionals will be available to provide further information about the products.

The 'Shot on Sigma' corner will showcase examples of award-winning films that have been shot using Sigma Cine lenses, offering inspiration and information to attendees. Finally, the 'Made in Aizu, Japan' area will delve into the expert craftsmanship that goes into the design and development of each Sigma lens.

The introduction of an autofocus cine lens by Sigma is expected to be extremely popular among videographers, filmmakers, and photographers who have adopted a more hybrid practice. It will provide a more comfortable entry point for those who are used to using autofocus for video.

IBC 2024, which kicks off on September 13 in Amsterdam, is one of the world's leading content and technology events. It is a platform where leading technology manufacturers can showcase their latest and greatest products, and Sigma's announcement is sure to generate a lot of excitement and interest among attendees.
